Dear Players and Parents,
I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of you as we look to prepare for the upcoming hockey season for Ottawa Myers Automotive U16 AAA.
My name is Phil Bergeron, and I am honored to take the helm as the Head Coach for this esteemed team. With an extensive background as a former professional hockey player and a successful head coach, I am eager to bring my experiences and passion for hockey to our U16 team and assist them grow and prepare them for the next phase of their hockey career.
Hockey has been my lifelong passion and commitment. Over the years, I've had the privilege of nurturing the talent of players across various age groups and skill levels, fostering their development, and watching them excel. I am deeply committed to ensuring each player's growth on and off the ice, and I understand the dedication and mindset required to achieve excellence in this sport.
Throughout my coaching career, my teams have celebrated numerous championships and accolades, including HEO League and Playoff Championships, All Ontario Provincial Championship Silver Medalist, and various tournament titles. I intend to bring this level of achievement and commitment to our club as well.
I've implemented a comprehensive annual plan and worked closely with assistant coaches to craft effective structure for the team. My approach is supported by strong leadership and communication skills and accountability. I am well versed in today's modern hockey strategies, skills, tactics and systems.
As we begin this exciting season, I want to assure you that my primary goal is to support each player in reaching their full potential and to create an environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and love for the game.
Parents, I look forward to working with you and appreciate your commitment to your players' aspirations.
Players, I am excited to start this journey with you and witness the growth and success that I know you are capable of.

Coach Bio
We are excited to welcome back Coach Phil Bergeron for another year with Myers, this year taking on our U16 AAA team.
Coach Bergeron — a former hockey player himself at the ECHL, OHL and QMJHL levels — has over 15 years experience coaching players from teams from: U13 AAA to Junior A. Coach Bergeron led our U13 AAA team to the league championship last year.
This will be Coach Beregeron’s sixth year leading a Myers AAA team. He had great successes with those teams as well, including league championships, playoff championships and all-Ontario provincial championships in the 2017–2020 seasons.
Coach Bergeron will welcome back his assistant coach Wayne Lassenba, and welcome Tony Lopez as a new member of the Myers U16 AAA coaching staff.
